Building Stories Workshop – crafting text for heritage projects
We can provide your organisation or team with a ‘closed’ interactive workshop tailored to your own needs
Together your team can learn how to hone their tone, find the right tools for the job and become master-text builders! If they are new to heritage interpretation, or just want to brush up on their skills, our interactive workshop provides a fun environment to support learning needs. Through participating in creative activities, your team will gain the confidence and skills to write copy that starts a conversation with your audiences.
On booking, you will be sent an activity pack in the post, full of creative resources to use during the workshop. This includes a project ‘blueprint’ setting out the different stages to building good interpretive content and five activities exploring the who, why, and how of text craft.
- Introduction to the key principles of interpretive storytelling in heritage spaces
- Identify what makes a good text (and avoid the pitfalls of bad examples!)
- Understand the needs and tastes of different audiences
- Explore new approaches to using language
- Be creative with word-crafting
- Edit and proofread text example
We can come to you, or arrange a venue as part of our training offer
